How to Merge two or more EPF accounts into one with UAN online?

When one changes the job, at times, it might result in a new Employee provident fund (EPF) account being opened. However, with the debut of the UAN (Universal Account Number), individuals can consolidate all existing EPF accounts and get merged two or multiple EPF into a single account for each EPFO member.

Also, the EPF balance, which is lying in their account with the old employer, can be transferred into a new EPF account. 

Provident Fund Organization, EPFO, provides this facility through its online portal. One needs to log in and can consolidate or merge their existing or multiple PF accounts with the current Universal account number (UAN).

Here the steps are given on Merging the EPF account into one with the UAN portal login.

Step 1 To Merging the two or multiple EPF accounts, One need to visit the EPFO website (Unified portal Member login). Click here 

Step 2 Now you need to access your account with UAN login credentials, i.e. Your UAN number, Password or then enter a Captcha.

Step 3 Once you’re logged in with your UAN account, then click on “ Online Services” Tab and drop-down the option for “ ONE MEMBER-ONE EPF ACCOUNT” and tap on it.

Step 4 As you tap on this option, it will redirect to the next web page where you have to submit the details for consolidation multiple EPF accounts. One must enter his mobile number, UAN number or following member ID. On submitting all of these details, an OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number, that you have to enter and confirm for authentication.

Step 5 Once the member enters OTP; a new window will prompt for entering the existing PF account details for merging to current UAN.

Also, you have to Tick the declaration and then submit.

That’s it, your request for merging the two or multiple EPF accounts into one will be sent to the EPFO office for further processing.

Things to note: 

• You can initiate the EPF account merging facility after three days of UAN activation (You can refer here how to activate your UAN)
• To avail this facility, the member needs to have his KYC or Adhar details updated in their UAN with the EPFO.
